Clearwater has unrivalled knowledge of Nigeria and has undertaken projects in the country for many leading international companies, especially oil companies. It has also been commissioned by the Nigerian government to undertake a study on the ownership of deepwater oil interests and by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corp to produce a Risk Audit of the Niger Delta.


Our bureau chief in Lagos, Yusuf lives in Kano and Lagos, but has his origins in Bauchi State. A businessman by background, he has represented a number of oil trading companies in Nigeria and traded in oil products himself. With a wide range of political connections, he has worked on many due diligence and political risk projects. The offices in Lagos and Abuja headed by Yusuf include a five-strong secretarial and logistical staff.

 


An eminent geographer at the University of Lagos, Dr. Soneye comes from Abeokuta. He is an authority on environmental impact assessment work and post-impact assessment concerning the oil industry in the Niger Delta. His work embraces projects for Chevron Nigeria (including the West Africa Gas Pipeline EIA) Mobil Producing Nigeria, Shell Petroleum Development Co, Nigerian Agip Oil Co and the Nigerian National Petroleum Corp. In all, he has contributed on 63 EIAs. Before taking up his post at Lagos University, he was a research and graduate assistant at the University of Waterloo in Canada.
 


He works as a community consultant to Allot Nigeria Ltd, the longest established environmental engineering consultancy in Nigeria, which undertakes environmental impact assessment work in the Niger Delta. His responsibilities concern liaison with communities, including communities in the Niger Delta. Previously, between 1999 and 2001 he worked as Assistant Project Officer, Community Conflict Resolution, for the non-government organisation, FacE-PAM in Lagos. Prior to that, he held a position as a community mobilisation officer in the Lagos State government. He comes form Borno State and was educated at the University of Jos in Plateau State.
 


From Ogun State, Tunde works for Global Impact Environmental Consulting Ltd in Lagos. He was the project manager of the Environmental Impact Assessment for the West Africa Gas Pipeline commissioned by Chevron Nigeria and Shell Petroleum Development Co and project manager of the EIA carried out for Chevron Texaco’s deepwater oil prospecting license 250. He has also carried out environmental assessment for the Nigerian Gas Co and for Chevron Texaco’s Escravos Gas Project.
 


‘Chucks’ comes from Imo State in the oil producing Niger Delta and too a degree in Cooperative and Rural Development at Enugu State University. He has worked for the Industrial Consulting Bureau in Lagos and is an expert in industries in Imo State and the eastern Niger Delta area.
